The Perisse lab is based at the Department of Neuroscience at the Institute of Functional Genomics at the University of Montpellier in the south of France.
This multidisciplinary research Institute offers a dynamic and international environment with multiple opportunities for collaborations, seminars and workshopsIf you are curious and interested in understanding how the brain computes appropriate value assigned to experience during learning and how an individual is using such value information to make appropriate value-based decisions, then you should apply for a postdoc fellowship in my lab !
To address such questions (and other exciting ones), we are using the powerful toolbox available in the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster combined with physiological (in vivo calcium imaging) and behavioural experiments.
Candidates should hold a PhD in neuroscience and demonstrate expertise in the field of animal behaviour and/or in vivo physiology. A plus will be an expertise in fly genetics and in programming (Python, R or MATLAB) for data analysis of in vivo physiology experiments.
I am looking now for a candidate ready to apply for a Fyssen postdoc fellowship 2-year grant (please check carefully the requirements, deadline is the April 2nd 2021, http://www.fondationfyssen.fr/en/study-grants/aim-award/). Of course, the candidate can also apply for other postdoc fellowships (EMBO, Human Frontiers…). You can send me a short CV and 2 referee contact information (email@example.com) before the end of February. Interviews will be done over Skype/Zoom early March 2021.
