Description
A 2-year postdoctoral position is available at the INCIA (Bordeaux Neurocampus, France) in the team Decision and Adaptation. The earliest starting date is January 2022 and the applicant must be available to start no later than April 30, 2022.
The selected candidate will work with Dr. Shauna Parkes on the neural basis of value-based decision-making in rats, within the framework of a collaborative project funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR). The goal of this project is to understand the mechanisms by which the prefrontal cortex builds the relative value of behavioural options during learning. The research includes a combination of behavioural testing using rodent touchscreens and circuit-level neural interventions in rats. The overall project involves a comparative approach across humans (S. Palminteri, ENS, Paris), macaques (S. Bouret, ICM, Paris), and rats (S. Parkes, INCIA, Bordeaux). The work at the INCIA will be conducted in close collaboration with these other teams.

Requirements
The applicant must have a PhD and experience with rodent behavior is desirable. Ideally, the applicant will also have good skills in computer programming and statistics, and an interest in learning computational model-based analyses would be appreciated.
